My Interview with Misty Eyed

Misty Eyed is another band playing the blue ridge rock festival 2020. They are Georgia based alternative metal band.

What is the inspiration/meaning for your band name?
o Well, Megan is a HUGE Twenty One Pilots fan, and they have a lyric that says, “gangsters don’t cry, therefore I’m Mr. Misty Eyed”. It’s a bit ironic too, because give her a sad movie or an emotional video, and Megan will almost definitely tear up.
· Who are your biggest influences for your music?
o This is tough since our styles are always changing and we’re all coming from different backgrounds when it comes to music we listen to. We have influences from Metallica and Led Zeppelin, to Nothing More and Breaking Benjamin, to Ghost and Asking Alexandria, to drummers like Alex Rudinger and Matt Halperin.
· What is your favorite song you've written and the meaning of the song?
o Well our top favorite song is one that we haven’t even released yet! But out of the ones that are released we’d have to say S.O.S. It was written based on our interpretation of a news story we heard about.
· What message would you like for your music to put out?
o Overcoming any obstacle in your way or anything you have going on in your life can be overcome. It may not be easy, but we want to help people get through whatever it is they have wearing on them.
· What artist/band would you like to collaborate with?
o We’d love to collab with someone way off from our genre. Someone like Lady Gaga, she’s extremely talented. Or maybe specific musicians like Quincy Jones or Adam “Nolly” Getgood.
· What is the craziest thing that has happened while you were on tour?
o It’s not necessarily crazy, but it is pretty funny. One of our old guitarists had put sunscreen on his chest at a music festival we played, and he spelled out Misty Eyed with it, and when he took it off he had a sunburn around it, with Misty Eyed still in white on his stomach!
· During the covid-19 quarantine/lockdown are you working on any special projects?
o We’ve been mostly working on getting this new music written and demoed. We’ve also been working on doing some more live streams to keep up with our friends in the scene and keep up with our fans.
· What message would you like to say to your fans/future fans?
o We just want to tell everyone to keep their chins up. It’s tough times right now, and it’s obviously on the forefront of everyone’s minds. Even regardless of the pandemic, we just want everyone to know that we’re right in the fight with you guys. We’re all in this together.
