Formed in 2010 the Lehighton, PA based band Another Day Dawns continues to be the most talked about up and coming rock act in the Northeast to Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S.

I had the pleasure of interviewing vocalist Dakota Sean. Get to know Another Day Dawns by checking out my interview and checking them out on the links below.

Mandy: First I just want to say thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me.When I first heard taste of heaven it immediately became one of my favorite songs. What was the song inspired by?

Dakota Sean: The song is more or less about someone thinking the grass is greener on the other side, all of the perks, none of the rewards though.  It's like having a Taste of the ultimate aspects of commitments but not putting any of the work into anything meaningful.

Mandy: You just released the video for beautiful suicide, was it planned to release at this time before the covid19 quarantine or a decision to release and give the fans something to look forward to while we're all going through these rough times?

Dakota Sean: It was a little bit of both actually.  We planned on producing having three videos come out during a time line and this kind of fell into the time frame.  We actually changed the video slightly to make a statement about the current climate. The lyrics are cryptic as far as the overall meaning, but we want the fans to decide what it means to them.

Mandy: You have opened for Godsmack and some amazing bands and have a upcoming tour with Adelitas Way, How does it feel to tour with such well known bands?

Dakota Sean: It is cool to finally be on the road and get out of the bar scene, especially with bands we have come to admire and respect.  We feel like we are accomplishing our goals finally but we are really not there yet.

Mandy: I know announcements are still ongoing for the blue ridge rock festival in Appomattox va and you can't let out any information about if you are playing it or not( just so you know I have requested you for it 😉) but with it being near my hometown I have to ask, how would you guys feel about playing that festival?

Dakota Sean: It would be a HUGE honor for us to go out there.   Honestly, ANY festival would be huge. haha.   We actually have a lot of fans in that market and region who want to see us and we would love to be a part of it!

Mandy: Who are the bands who inspired you the most to get into music?

Dakota Sean: Everyone in the band is a little different. For me, it was the 90s grunge era. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc.   if you ask the other guys you might get some rap or metal aspects.   We are all different and that brings our collective product to the table.

Mandy: Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Dakota Sean: Hmmmmmmm.....good question. Honestly I would love to do anything with Ben Burnley and all of Breaking Benjamin.  They are from our area and I looked up to them very much growing up.

Mandy: Are you working on anything special during the covid quarantine?

Dakota Sean: We are going to be live streaming on Loop TV in conjunction with Twitch on April 25th.  It is a massive online music festival that is supposed to have up to 5 million viewers that day.

Mandy: What message would you like for your music to put out?

Dakota Sean: I don't want to say the cliche thing that it is ok to be different, but everyone is the same.   Honestly the best thing for me to say is to stand out and don't blend in with the normal crowd. It's ok to be different.

Mandy: What would you like to say to your fans/future fans?

Dakota Sean: To the current fans since year one since we were playing covers in smokey bars, thank you so much for the support. Everything has helped us so. much. For the new fans, welcome aboard, and what took you so long?! hahaha

Mandy: Again I want to thank you so much for the chance to have a interview with you. You guys are awesome and keep up the amazing work.

Dakota Sean: Thank you for taking the time to write about us!  Don't be a stranger!
